Celebrity MasterChef winner and former England rugby captain Phil Vickery is launching No.3, a new catering service in Cheltenham, after postponing plans to open a restaurant.
With a focus on British produce, the service will offer ready-to-eat meals to order and collect, including Parmesan-crusted chicken breasts with tomato and basil sauce, deluxe fish pie and duck legs. spiced roasts with a pot of cannellini beans, so people in Gloucestershire can still enjoy quality restaurant food within social distancing guidelines.
Phil and his team, which includes the former head chef of The Daffodil in Cheltenham Tom Rains and Elliott Camm, who has been the house manager for The Daffodil and Ellenborough Park, had planned to open a restaurant in Cheltenham in May 2020 , but transformed the economic model in response to the coronavirus crisis.
Speaking of the launch, Phil said: âCheltenham and the wider region have a fantastic food scene and it’s a scene I’ve been looking to get into for quite some time⦠last year the stars were aligned and I I had the opportunity to form a series of perfect partnerships, comprising a brilliant team and suppliers, as well as the right owner’s buy-in. Then, out of nowhere, COVID-19 and the crisis that followed emerged, making apparently fail our plans.
âNot wanting to put all the hard preparation work aside, I was determined to keep going. So, by setting up new plans and implementing them over the last few weeks, we are now able to launch No.3 as a collection service; provide people with access to high quality food without any risk to themselves.
âDespite the current pandemic, ultimately, it has not changed anything. I will always do what I wanted. The food that I love and support and champion will be eaten at home rather than in a restaurant. We provide standard restaurant food for people at home. It’s only the first few days for # 3, but the flavor and taste will sell our offering – and we look forward to what the weeks and months ahead have in store for us as people come to appreciate it. . ‘
To order, call n ° 3 on 07753 498985 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Orders must be placed 24 hours in advance and picked up at Brickhampton Court Golf Complex in Churchdown, near Cheltenham.
