MARYLAND – For some people, drinking beer while wearing green is the way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. For others, especially families, it may mean visiting a local restaurant to take advantage of special menu items and offers to celebrate all things Irish.

The feast of March 17 marks the death of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick’s Day has become a celebration of Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing, drinking and lots of greenery.

The folks at RetailMeNot and Offers.com have rounded up special menu items and deals at restaurants in Maryland that you can check out in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Contact your local restaurant to make sure it’s open or doing take-out as part of the St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

At Arby’s: For a limited time, taste St. Patrick’s Day at Arby’s by grabbing one of its mint chocolate milkshakes.

Applebee: The “SIP ME, I’m IRISH!” from Applebee! challenge costs $5 per Saintly Sip. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, try the Tipsy Leprechaun – a drink made with Jameson Irish whiskey, melon liqueur, blue curacao, sweet and sour and lemon-lime soda or try the Pot O’ Gold Colada – which features Captain Morgan and mango. For a limited time, add an order of five boneless wings to any burger for $1. The deal runs until March 29.

Baskin Robbins: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Baskin Robbins by grabbing a scoop or two of the flavor of the month, Irish Golden Oreo Ice Cream. Or if you’re celebrating the holidays with a larger group, opt for a St. Patrick’s Day themed cake.

At Bennigan’s: Until March 31, Bennigan’s will be offering a special menu in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. From green beer to the Reuben Burger (a half-pound beef burger with ground corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, Thousand Island dressing and served on toasted rye bread), the menu Blarney Blast will delight all Irish guests.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.: Enjoy a Cup O’ Gold at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. this St. Patrick’s Day, by ordering a Jameson Irish, blended with Jameson Irish Whiskey, fresh lime juice and Fever-Tree Ginger Beer. It is available from March 17 to March 21.

Chilli’s: Chile’s Margarita of the Month for March is The Lucky Jameson, which features Jameson Irish Whiskey, Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Triple Sec, Fresh Sour and Salty Rim for $5. Available at local Chili branches or take-out at participating restaurants.

Chuck E. Cheese: At Chuck E. Cheese, kids have a chance to win Pot O’ Gold as a free game when they arrive on March 17. Until April 26, get 30 bonus minutes Monday through Thursday when you purchase 60 minutes or more.

Cold Stone Creamery: The ice cream chain has teamed up with General Mills to bring you the magic of lucky charms in ice cream form with the Ice Cream at the End of the Rainbow candy bar. Available until March 31.

Dairy Queen: March brings the luck of the Irish to lovers of Mint Brownie Blizzard and Mint Chip Shake at Dairy Queen. You can enjoy these delicious frozen treats for a limited time only.

Einstein Brothers Bagels: On March 17, customers can enjoy Shamrock Shmear (Special Green Plain Cream Cheese) with any freshly baked bagel from Einstein Bros Bagels. The festive offer is only available for in-store orders.

Kona Grill: St. Patrick’s Day becomes St. Patrick’s Week at the Kona Grill. From March 14 through March 18, dine at the Kona Grill and enjoy green beer and Sake & Seltzer specials for $3 during happy hour. For dinner, take-out and delivery, enjoy corned-beef sliders at $6 each.

Krispy Kreme Donuts: On March 16 and 17, the original glazed donut goes green and so do you. Stop and taste a dozen original green glazed donuts. Lucky Charms cereal: Launching a limited edition version of the original Lucky Charms cereal, this one will magically turn your milk green. Find it at Walmart.

Mary Callender: The chain is serving Corned Beef & Cabbage and a Reuben Sandwich, in select locations until March 17.

McDonald’s: Don’t miss the limited-time duo offered to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. It’s officially Shamrock Shake and OREO® Shamrock McFlurry® season.
