JOLIET, IL – Construction of Will County’s first Raising Cane fast food restaurant is well underway along Plainfield Road near the Louis Joliet Mall.

The site’s general contractors on Friday said Joliet Patch’s restaurant The Raising Cane is expected to be finished before the end of the year.

Tom White, executive director of the Three Rivers Construction Alliance, told Joliet Patch that the entire scope of Raising Cane’s construction work is 100% unionized workers and artisans.

According to Blanc:

  • MAPP, based in Dallas, Texas, is director of construction.
  • The HVAC contractor is Value Pro Mechanical in Elgin.
  • The electrical contractor is Carlyn Electrical Construction in Elk Grove Village.
  • The plumbing contractor is Dependable Plumbing of Plainfield.
  • The roofing contractor is Langlois Roofing from Kankakee.
  • The concrete contractor is Elliot Construction of Glen Ellyn.

Raising Cane’s announced plans to enter the fast food market in Joliet just one month after Joliet celebrated the opening of the new Chick-fil-A.

“They hope to start construction this spring and open it later in 2021,” City of Joliet economic development director Derek Conley told Joliet Patch in February. “I think it will be a great location. I think they will be very successful.”

As previously stated, Raising Cane’s is a growing fast food franchise. Raising Cane’s offers a simple menu: virtually all meal options involve chicken fingers.
