Popular restaurant chain launches range of home goods at Tesco

Italian-inspired restaurant chain Zizzi has launched a selection of dishes from its menu exclusively at Tesco.

The new “at home” frozen range offers starters, main courses and desserts. These include restaurant bestsellers such as Garlic Bread & Cheese (RRP £2.50), Casareccia Pollo Piccante pasta dish (RRP £3.50), Lasagne Bolognese (RRP: £3.50) and Chorizo Carbonara and Rigatoni Chicken Della Casa (RRP: £3.50). There’s also a trio of 12-inch-long pizzas (RRP: £3.75 / £4.00) and desserts such as Salted Caramel Brownie (RRP: £3.00) and Raspberry & Lemon Cheesecake (RRP: £3.50).

In addition to the 10 dishes rolling out this week, Zizzi will expand the lineup in May with three plant-based vegan dishes – Vegan Jackfruit Pepperoni Pizza, Vegan Rainbow Lasagna and Vegan Praline Brownie.

Rachel Hendry, Director of Marketing at Zizzi, said, “We are thrilled to bring our restaurant favourites, all Italian dishes with a twist, to freezers nationwide. Tesco shoppers can enjoy the full Zizzi restaurant experience with a three-course meal including a delicious starter, choice of main courses and desserts for good times at home.

Hannah Skinner, Purchasing Manager at Tesco, added: “More and more consumers are choosing options that allow them to create delicious dining experiences at home. We have seen our customers recognize the freshness and quality of frozen food and the delicious new Zizzi at Home range is exactly what our customers are looking for.

“The frozen category can really help families manage their food waste due to the longer shelf life and we know our shoppers are more aware of that. We look forward to welcoming the range to our stores nationwide. »

Roll-out of the range across 1,200 Tesco supermarkets and Express stores will be supported in-store and with social, email and influencer marketing activity.

NAM implications:
  • Allows you to create a branded restaurant experience at home…
  • …at reasonable prices…
  • …with ‘frozen’ facilitating less waste.
  • A win-win potential for consumers, Tesco and Zizzi…
  • Time for the rivals to explore their options?
