The restaurant manager responds brilliantly to the critic who called their meat “ridiculous”

A restaurant manager in Glounthaune had no criticism that called his meat “ridiculous” – even though he hadn’t even eaten there.

At the end of September, a visitor to the popular place “The Elm Tree” left the restaurant only one star in a scathing review of the place.

However, the facility manager, Roy O’Connell, did not accept the criticism and was quick to respond to the complaint.

The person’s gripe was that they were not allowed to book in advance and when they arrived the queue was around 30 people with most of the seats occupied.

Due to this and the fact that management and staff would have been “rude and stressed out” the group left without even trying the food – and awarded a star anyway.

Not accepting the harsh criticism, The Elm Tree clarified the issue and refuted the claims so that others would not be dissuaded from trying their restaurant based on this review.

Mr O’Connell said: “I am sorry to hear that you find our Sunday Carvery system ‘ridiculous’.

The exchange between the dissatisfied customer and the evaluator

“It’s a system that has served our customers very well for over a decade now.

“The tables that you observed with RESERVED signs are set by our team so that they can seat people directly from the queue for the meat to be cut. This prevents other people from coming in and taking the places before those in the queue.

“Our system works extremely efficiently and customers rarely have to wait for a table as they are directed to a table once they have their food.

“Either way, I hope you enjoyed your meal elsewhere.

The Elm Tree often responds to reviews on the site, even the good ones – which most of them are, and likes to interact with customers it seems.

They have over 300 great reviews and an impressive 4.0 out of 5 review – definitely worth a visit, despite what this reviewer thinks.
