Virat Kohli’s restaurant chain, One8 Commune, opens in the iconic Kishore Kumar bunglow in Juhu

The heritage trails and golden sands of Juhu locality have been no stranger to some of the most memorable times and places that give this beloved ultra-cool suburb its heritage reputation. The brand new casual and one-of-a-kind dining and bar space called One8 Commune, owned by Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, is ready to open its doors to customers, but make no mistake, it’s not just your usual restaurant, but a place that makes you feel part of a community.

The restaurant is a tribute to the late Kishore Kumar. Installed in his old house, he celebrates the pluralism and humanism implied by belonging to the “commune”. Speaking about his favorite dishes and the avant-garde menu, Virat Kohli comments “Our main goal was to experiment with all kinds of green vegetables and grains and turn them into dishes that were not only healthy and light, but also filled with bold flavors. the commune, we wanted to push the concept of “good for the soul” cuisine, to focus on something that is not only healthier in nature but serves up a gourmet experience. One8 Commune has a section on the menu called “Virat’s Favorites,” which includes top menu choices like the newly added pearl barley risotto to the old favorite superfood salad.
